Orthodontics Townsville

Are you self conscious of the minor misalignment of your teeth or your bite? Do you avoid smiling in public or worse try to hide your teeth when you talk or smile because of this misalignment?  If this is you, Dentist at Healthlink has the solution!

Invisalign treatment is available at Dentist at Healthlink to help straighten your teeth.  This is the alternative to traditional braces with the main difference being it is near invisible.  This treatment is a breakthrough for our adult patients who would love to have the results of orthodontic treatment but are reluctant to wear traditional metal braces for several years.

Your teeth will be gradually straighten by wearing a series of clear aligner trays for 20-22 hours a day and the trays are only removed when eating, brushing or flossing.  Invisalign treatment actually discourage you from snacking throughout the day as you would have to remove the trays then clean your teeth after snacking, you will also be encouraged to drink only water while wearing the trays to prevent discoulouring them.  At the end of your treatment, not only will you have perfectly aligned teeth and a beautiful smile, you’ll be healthier and slimmer too!

If you live in or around Townsville and would like to know more about Invisalign treatments, our highly skilled dentists would be pleased to discuss the options with you at a consultation appointment.

Upper and lower teeth are presumably meant to fit neatly together. When they don’t, the smile looks crooked, there would be an increased risk of getting decay and gum infections. We have a dentist who specialises in orthodontics who visits us once a month who can help with any orthodontic needs. He has taken special training and continued to learn orthodontics to correct crooked teeth.

Crooked or overlapping teeth can cause a range of problems including:

  1. Tooth decay and gum disease. It is harder to clean teeth that are crooked
  2. Undesirable wear of teeth causing attrition and sensitivity
  3. Severe psychological impact and low self esteem
  4. Temporomandibular joint problems

Many styles of braces are avaialbe, most common are metal or ceramic braces which are placed on the front surface of the tooth and Lingual braces, which are classed as incognito, and placed on the tongue side of the teeth, these can correct most, but not all cases.
